Meet Dr. Chaitra Arakere (“Dr. Chai”)

Dr. Chaitra Arakere is known for putting her patients at ease with her comfortable, compassionate, and easygoing style. She puts her heart and soul into every patient interaction, ensuring each person feels cared for and is well informed. Dr. Chai strives to build lifelong relationships with her patients by helping them gain the confidence that comes from a healthy and beautiful smile. Patients always come first with Dr. Chai, who provides the highest level of care. She is a diligent, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented professional with a personalized approach to every person’s needs. She genuinely cares about her patients’ beauty, health, and well-being.

Dr. Chai received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL and has been practicing comprehensive cosmetic and family dentistry for over two decades. She has been featured in national publications and honored with numerous accolades and recognitions, including:

• The prestigious 2014 Outstanding Performance and Leadership (OPAL) Award
• The 2014 Dentist Leader of the Year as voted by her peers
• The official 2016 Ambassador for the Oral Cancer Foundation, recognizing her for her contributions to support oral cancer awareness and show true concern for public health in her community

She also frequently participates in volunteer opportunities.

Dr. Chai is a lifelong student and constantly improves her clinical skills by keeping up with the rapidly evolving dental technologies and techniques. She frequently travels to attend advanced training and continuing education seminars well beyond the minimum required by the state. She has received certificates in advanced training and continuing education seminars in areas such as conscious sedation, dental implants continuum, digital smile design, obstructive sleep apnea, Invisalign, and many more.

Dr. Chai became interested in dental medicine in her early childhood after a visit to the family dentist impressed upon her the power of enhancing a patient’s smile and self-confidence by improving the aesthetics, function, and health of their teeth. She also experienced firsthand how her family dentist was able to calm patients with debilitating infections and swollen gums caused by dental disease and toothaches. These experiences instilled a strong sense of compassion, exactly what makes her an exceptional dentist.  And as the saying goes, the rest is history. Dr. Chai went on to be the first dentist in her family.

Dr. Chai lives in The Woodlands with her loving, supportive husband, Suda, and their two beautiful teenagers, Surya and Sitara, who keep them busy with their many activities. When they have free time, she and her family enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, watching movies, spending time with friends, and getting involved with the community by volunteering. Dr. Chai is an avid art lover and also enjoys nature and walking around the trails throughout The Woodlands, weight training, healthy cooking, and juicing.
